Japan have many theme restaurants, cafes and bars. I want to experience many as possible in this trip. Me and my friend went to "Hunter's Bar" in Shinjuku. It was representing a game called "Monster Hunter". I have played newest Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter World, but my friend has played a lot more games from that franchise. So it was like a dream come true for her.
You have to have a reservation in that bar or you can't come in. My friend reserved tickets from website called "TableCheck". Ticket has a exact time when you can go inside and you have 90 minutes in there. But if there isn't reservations after you, you can stay longer.
Waitress ask you to come in when it's your time. When you step in, there is little Palico cat welcoming you. The room isn't very big and there isn't many tables. We were sitting at bar table because there were only two of us. The room has many cool accessories. In the walls there were different weapons from the game. In the back there were monitors and you can play the game itself there.
In the table, there is a small tablet. You use that to order food and drinks. It's in Japanese but if you don't understand it isn't a problem. It is very simple! You only have to add item number to tablet and here you go! The staff didn't speak much English but it wasn't a problem at all.
The menu is in the table too and you can check what they offer. All the foods and drinks were themed. Also there were alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I select two drinks, one warm meal and one dessert. It was good, but the dessert was so big!
We got a little "Guild Card" where you can collect stamps how many times you visit and get prizes. Sadly we got only one card so I gave it to my friend. You also got points from how much you order. With those points you can choose from different opinions. We choose two coasters. Also we got free coaster, but it was thinner than the other one.
It was very nice place and the staff was friendly. I can't understand Japanese very well and I can't speak much but it wasn't a problem. Only negative thing was prize but usually theme restaurants are expensive. But important thing was that we had fun! :)
Special tip for you!
If you are interested in Monster Hunter or other Capcom games, there is Capcom cafe in shopping center called "AEON Lake Town kaze" in Saitama. It is maybe an hour away in Tokyo. There is different merchandise from Capcom games and also a cafe/restaurant which selection will change at times.
We bought Monster Hunter merchandise from there. We didn't go to cafe because there wasn't many Monster Hunter themed food that time.
