Hello! I have been in Finland a month now and I haven't made new posts here. Reasons for that... I have been sick and also I fell and hurt my right arm. That's my luck. But yeah now I will tell you about my last days in Japan.
14.03.2020 Saturday
It was raining so much! And we had to go to the Sakura House Office to inform that we have to leave early. We took our umbrellas and started walking to our destination. I think that weather was reflecting our feelings about all this. I was sad that we have to go back to Finland. But of course our health is top priority.
Because we had to leave earlier than we informed we had still pay the next month rent. After that we decided to go to Akihabara. We wanted to buy souvenirs and last things what we maybe needed from there. When we arrived there we first went to eat because we were all very hungry. The place we went I have already visited couple of times and I liked it very much. I always bought the same food, because it was so good! Then we went to shopping.
After shopping Noora and Emma bought a little birthday cake, because Noora had birthday couple of days ago and also Samu had his birthday. Also mine birthday were going to be when we are in Japan, but because plans were changed, I didn't get to celebrate my birthday in Japan. So that cake was for me, Samu and Noora. There were also candles and it was fun. And the cake tasted good! In the evening we watched a movie called "Promare". It was okay, I liked the graphics more than the plot.
15.03.2020 Sunday
At morning we went to Meiji Jingu Shrine for the last time. There I bought a wooden plaque called "Ema". You wrote your prayer or wishes to it and then leave it to hang in the shrine. So I wrote there my wish and left it there. I hope that my wish will come true some day :)
After visiting the shrine, we walked to Shinjuku gyoen park to watch if there was cherry blossom trees in bloom. And yeah there was, but not many because it wasn't the right time yet. But I'm happy that I was able to see even a little bit. The flowers was so beautiful. The park was very big and beautiful. And the weather was nice also.
Then we tried to find place to eat. After walking some time we find ourselves in some underground restaurant. The food was so good! And good thing was that you ordered with tablet so you didn't have to talk to waitress.
When our stomachs were full, we did go to Don Quijote, which is big store where you can find anything!!! We haven't been able to go there so now it was our last change. There were many floors and every floor has so many things. It was hard to move there because aisles were thin. I bought souvenirs and snacks. And in the evening I packed my suitcases and also packages that I wanted to send to Finland.
16.03.2020 Monday
Our last full day in Japan! In the morning we went to post office with our packages. It costed so much more than we thought. But we still sent the boxes because there wasn't any space in our suitcases. Then we had to clean our rooms before our check out, so I was cleaning my room and packing almost all day.
In the evening we agreed to go to Tokyo Skytree mall and visit Sensō-ji Temple. We bought souvenirs and went to eat. That was good also (everything I have eaten in Japan has been good!). The Skytree itself was closed because of the virus so we didn't manage to go up this time.
We walked to our second destination. I was cold because it was late. The area around the temple was open, so we walked there and took pictures. The temple and the area around it was lighten up beautiful and it was a good choice to come there at night time.
Then we walked around and my legs were so hurt after the day. And the next day would be also a challenge with sore legs.
17.03.2020 Tuesday
I had to woke up early because we had to wash our linens before the check out. So me and Emma went to washing place next to our apartment. Then I ate breakfast and drank strawberry coffee. I also did last cleaning in my room and in the between I put my linens in the dry machine.
Then finally we were ready to leave our apartment. So yeah I had same two suitcases, backpack and my camera bag. We had to walk to Yoyogi Station and go to Nippori station with Yamanote Line train. Then in the Nippori Station we changed our train to Skyliner. We bought our tickets from the ticket machine and we were so close to be late from that train. But we managed to get in.
The Skyliner from Nippori to the Haneda Airport was about 40 min travel. I had very bad headache and I took some painkillers. At the airport I took a cart for my suitcases because I was tired. It was so easy with the cart and you can also go to escalators with it! Then we dropped our bags at bag drop and then went to check-in. It was really fast.
Then we did some shopping and went to eat our last ramen in Japan. Then we had to go to our plane. I was so anxious about the flight because I scare the takeoff and the landing. But the flight time went fast and we got to eat good food there. I also watched series and a movie and slept.
We arrived to Helsinki Airport at 14:45 or something like that. My and Emma's train left after 18:00 so we didn't have to hurry. I, Emma and Noora went to eat in coffee shop at the airport. Then Noora had to go, so me and Emma went to Starbucks to spend time. Then we went to Tikkurila by train and changed train there. But our second train was late over an hour! We were standing in the platform with our suitcases and it was raining a little bit. I came back to Joensuu so late and had to take taxi.
So that was my trip. I'm so clad that I even got to be in Japan over a month. It was a nice experience. I hope that I can go back there some day.
